The most common Dermal Fillers used are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the body. HA is hydrophobic, meaning it readily absorbs water, to replace lost volume or provide structural enhancement to facial anatomy. Restylane offers various hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, specially made to address specific areas of the face. Some mimic “bone” while others can be deposited to mimic the soft tissues of the face. Hyaluronic Acid fillers have varying durations of effect, primarily driven by the “cross-linking” of the molecules as well as other features to each specific product. Effects of Restylane fillers range from 6 months to 18months depending on the product used. Learn more HERE

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers were first introduced on the market in 1996. Since their debut, there has been an explosion of advanced technique development, continued safety and efficacy research, as well as education in complication management.
Like any procedure there are associated risks and complications can rarely occur. These are minimized by ensuring your injector is trained by an accredited institution. At The Balanced Method KC, we require all injectors to be certified with hands on training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) to ensure injections are as safe as possible. During your appointment, your treating physician will provide more information about the rare complications that can occur with HA dermal filler use.

The treatment cost is dependent on the number of 1.0mL syringes required for your enhancement. The number of syringes recommended will depend on the following:
• Your goals, degree of facial volume loss, or facial enhancement desired (more is NOT always better)
• The areas you are looking to treat and the product type required for best results (example: cheek filler and lip filler often require different products and a syringe is not recommended to be “split” between the two areas for the best result).
The total amount of syringes used will determine the cost of your enhancement, and most patients can expect 1-2 syringes per treatment area with reduced syringe cost if multiple areas are treated. This typical costs $800-$1400 per treatment area.

• Treatment takes ~15 min. for numbing, an additional 15-30min for injection.
• It is normal to have some degree of swelling, bruising, and redness.
• It is normal to feel some areas with increased texture where the filler was placed. This incorporates into the tissue over the next 2 weeks.
Days 0-5
• Swelling, bruising, redness peaks then starts to resolve.
• The areas of increased texture may remain as time is needed for the product to incorporate fully.
Week 2+
• The filler is typically fully incorporated into the tissue at this time.
